Hi, I’m Nicola. In 2020, my life flipped overnight. One day I was healthy. The next, I was just surviving.

I live with coeliac disease, MCAS, multiple food sensitivities, a severe sensitivity to mould and the list goes on. Dining out was already hard enough with coeliac, but then travel became its own kind of impossible. Mouldy hotels. Airbnbs that looked perfect in photos and made me sick within hours. Restaurants where “gluten-free” meant something completely different behind the scenes. Vacations that were supposed to be relaxing turned into research projects, then into nightmares, then into me sitting on a bathroom floor wondering why this had to be so hard.

I tried to piece together a system: one app for restaurants, another for hotel reviews, endless forum posts and Facebook groups, hours of research before booking anything. It never covered everything I needed. There was always a gap. And in that gap was another flare-up, another ruined trip, another moment of feeling like I was the only person dealing with this. So I decided to build the thing I needed and couldn’t find.

The Allergy Club is a place to check before you book, not after you’ve already unpacked and started reacting. Mould, fragrance, ventilation, cross-contamination, air quality. The invisible stuff that never shows up in a five-star review but changes everything for people like us.

I’m not building this because I figured it all out. I’m building it because I still haven’t, and I’m tired of doing it alone, and I know so many of you are too.
